Anyone from the uOttawa community interested in trading can either practice on their own or join a dedicated group:

  • Test your skills on your own:
    • Rotman Server: Rotman runs the LT3 demo case 24/7. Instructions here.
    • uOttawa Server: For more cases, you can access the RIT Client Application Server in-person in the Lab. Instructions here.
    • Trading Guide: Please follow this link for learning resources.
  • If you are interested in participating in competitions:
    • You must join the uOttawa Trading Club and participate in an internal competition, the Telfer Trading Competition (TTC), that helps determine the team participating in the RITC.

Trading Resources

Rotman Interactive Trader (RIT)

The RIT application is an order-driven market simulator (which allows users to transact financial securities with each other on a real-time basis) plus a sequence of RIT cases. Each RIT case focuses on the risks and opportunities associated with particular securities or strategies.

Competitions

Telfer Trading Competition (TTC)

This competition is typically held after the reading week, and its goal is to determine which students will form the team that will represent uOttawa at the Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) in February of the following year.

Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC)

The Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) is an annual event that brings teams of students and their faculty advisors from universities worldwide to participate in a unique 3-day simulated market challenge.
