Clinical Practice Guidelines are systematically developed statements to assist practitioner and patient decisions about appropriate care. Guidelines can be found in the following ways:

• Websites of Canadian and International organizations
• Databases (CINAHL, PubMed, and TRIP) by limiting search results to publication type filters
• Point-of-care tools

CINAHL

You can limit your results to practice guidelines. Before you type in the search query, on the search screen:

• under the search options box, find
• limit your results box, then
• in the Publication Type box, select Practice Guidelines, then click on search

PubMed

Use the article type "Practice Guidelineline" filter to limit your result list to guidelines.

TRIP

Type in your search query, on the results page under filter results, click guidelines to limit results to just clinical practice guidelines.
