The Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics (CCJS), in co-operation with the policing community, collects police-reported crime statistics through the Uniform Crime Reporting Survey (UCR). The UCR Survey was designed to measure the incidence of crime in Canadian society and its characteristics. (Statistics Canada) Link for more information.
Homicide Survey
The Homicde Survey collects police-reported data on the characteristics of all murder incidents, victims and accused persons and all homicides, including murder, manslaughter and infanticide. (Statistics Canada) The UCR also provides homicide data, but lacking the detail of the Homicide Survey. The Homicide Survey data comprises three detailed data files. Link for more information.
