LiDAR is a type of remote sensing and can be used to provide highly accurate elevation data. The data is collected as points with elevation (x, y, z). These points have been turned into DEMs (Digital Elevation Models) with a 1 metre resolution.
DEM covering the urban areas of the National Capital Region and Gatineau Park. DEMs are derived from the NCC's orthophotos and the index matches the coverage of the NCC's orthophotos. Resolution ranges from 10cm to 100cm, depending on the year.
