Finding financial information on a company
You may already be using Bloomberg or FactSet to get the financial information you need, along with free resources like Google Finance, but the library subscribes to many other resources that can inform the valuation of your company, including:
- FactivaHover over the Companies/Markets tab in the top menu bar and select Company. Search by company name or ticker symbol. View Company Snapshot Overviews with links to News, Peer Comparison, Financial Results, Ownership, Company Ratio Comparison Reports, and more.
- The Financial Times (FT.com)Select the Markets tab, then the Markets Data tab. [To create an account, go to FT.com while on campus. Click "Subscribe". Register with your uOttawa e-mail address.]
- TMX MoneyLocate your firm then search under the “Research” tab to see ratings and analyst recommendations
- J.P. Morgan Equities Research ReportsContains in-depth reports for 3,400 companies analyzed by 800 expert research analysts worldwide, covering all industries and all regions with just a 7 day embargo. Available through ProQuest One Business.
Finding non-financial information on a company

- Business Source CompleteFor scholarly articles, magazine publications, market and industry reports, news items. Also includes company profiles, with SWOT analyses for major companies. Click 'Company Profiles' in the Browse column and search by company name.
- Canadian Newsstand Major DailiesFor newspaper articles from 25 major Canadian newspapers, including Ottawa Citizen, National Post, and Globe & Mail.
- PassportFor market research data and analysis on companies and brands, with a focus on consumer products. Sometimes includes SWOT analyses within company profiles. Select the Companies tab or use the search box.
- FactivaFor foreign newspaper content, magazines, reports. Search for your company by using the "company" search function below the main search box. Search for news on M&A by using the "Factiva Expert Search" function below the main search box, expand Competitive Intelligence, then select Mergers and Acquisitions.

Financial Research and Learning Lab
The Financial Research and Learning Lab, located in DMS2186, houses 36 computers running industry-standard financial research databases and real-time learning software. Certain databases, such as Bloomberg, are available only in this lab.
