Getting started with Mendeley
Mendeley is a free reference manager and academic social network where you can create a fully-searchable library, cite as you write, and read and annotate PDFs on any device.
Mendeley exists in two versions: Mendeley Reference Manager and Mendeley Desktop. As of September 2022, Mendeley Desktop will cease to be available for download. Legacy Mendeley Desktop users will continue to have access to the software.
To begin:
- Create a free account and make your choice between Reference Manager or Desktop
- Download and install Mendeley Desktop (doing so installs the Microsoft Word add-on).
- Install the Web importer to easily save references from various search tools
