How to Use Omni

Why should you login to your account

Once you arrive on the Library website,sign in to access your account so you can search and view otherwise hidden content, easily pin items to your favorites, make requests and also view the status of your books.
 
What you can do once you sign in:  
  • Update profile 
  • Check loans & requests
  • Renew materials
  • View search history
  • Access Favourites

How to Login

Students 

  • To access your Library account, click on My Account. (see the screenshot above)
  • Click on uoAccess ID credentials and enter your uOttawa email address and your password

Alumni and Visitors 

To sign into Omni for the first time : 

  • On the Omni main page, click on My Account. (see the first screenshot above)
  • Select Omni ID. Insert your user ID = your email address and your password = the password you choose when you created your uOttawa account

  • Click Login

Need Help 

To reset your password, click on Need help signing in ?

  • Select Réinitialiser le mot de passe | Reset password . 
  • Enter your email address and click Send . If we found a matching email address, you will receive a reset password link. 

When you have your password you'll need it each time you log into your Omni account.  

My account

Different Tabs you can see on your account :

  • Overview: Review main items that are in your account in a broad view 
  • Loans: View your current Loans also see past documents you have borrowed
  • Requests: Verify  the requests you’ve made, if you no longer need the documents, you can Cancel the request and even pin them to your favorites to save them for another time 
  • Fine + Fees: See in detail the fines that you have, follow this link for more information on borrowing and fines (https://www2.uottawa.ca/library/services/borrow-access). You may only pay fines at various Library service desks.
