Your Health System in Detail (CIHI)
Mental health indicators and details for SES (Income quintiles), Sex, Health regions, Hospitals / long-term care, and available years.
To use:
1. Type in the name of a city in the text box Start by entering your province, territory, city or hospital, and click on match in pull-down menu.
2. Browse through the following categories (underlined) for mental health indicators as follows:
Access: Self-Harm Hospitalizations;
Person-Centredness: Repeat Hospital Stays for Mental Illness;
Appropriateness and Effectiveness: Potentially Inappropriate Use of Antipsychotics in Long-Term Care || Restraint Use in Long-Term Care;
Health Status: Hospitalizations Entirely Caused by Alcohol || Worsened Depressive Mood in Long-Term Care || Experiencing Pain in Long-Term Care || Experiencing Worsened Pain in Long-Term Care.
3. Click on one if the circles for any of these indicators
4. Scroll down to Interactive Map
5. Click on Data Export to download to Excel.
6. Note: Your downloaded Excel file will have tabs for All Data Export - Indicators || All Data Export - Contextual (detailed demographics by region, and health region peer groups).
7. Select worksheet All Data Export - Indicators
8. You will select only one indicator (this table has all in-depth health system indicators which may be too much)
9. Scroll to right to column Indicators
10. Click on down arrow in top cell Indicators
11. Click on first checkbox (Select All) to unselect
12. Scroll down to select your indicator of interest
13. Tick the checkbox to the left of your indicator of interest
14. Sort columns and further filter columns as you wish (e.g., you may or may not want to include specific Hospital or long-term care organizations).
