Finding e-books and print books

If you are looking for a book on a topic, the easiest way to find it is to search the library's online catalogue. Our catalogue includes only books from good-quality publishers. In most cases, you'll be able to read the book online, right away. (If you want to only look at e-books, you can select 'Availability - online resources' on the right side of the results.)

Once you find a book of interest, you proceed by:

E-books:

  • Follow the link in the record to access the book.
  • If you are located off-campus, you will be asked to identify yourself.

Print books

  • Note the location, call number, and status.
    • If the book is available, you can go to the library and retrieve the item.
    • If the book is unavailable, you can place a hold on it.

If you don't find enough results, try using a broader term; see this page for advice; or email me, your engineering librarian, for help!

Advanced Introductory books

These book series offer an introduction to a topic for graduate students (or advanced undergraduates). Some titles are in print and others electronic.

To search all of the below series for a specific topic, you can modify this search of the library catalogue by adding a keyword. (You can 'Add a new line'). If you don't find any results, try using a more general term.

Springer Lecture Notes Series

Note a standard search in the Scopus or Web of Science databases will also search  the Lecture Notes series, and other book series. Access them from the Find Articles tab above.
