Media Literacy Week 2022

October 24 - 28, 2022 is Media Literacy Week, an annual event promoting media and digital literacy across Canada. Once again, the University of Ottawa Library is hosting two online seminars (one in English, one in French) to discuss the valuable lessons shared in MediaSmarts's fact-checking Break the Fake interactive e-learning module.

Break the Fake e-Learning Module and Follow-up Seminar

Participating in the University of Ottawa Library Media Literacy Week event is a 1, 2, 3 step process.

1) Complete the online module

Complete MediaSmarts's fact-checking Break the Fake interactive e-learning module. It generally takes less than an hour.

2) Register for the follow-up seminar

Register for the Break the Fake follow-up seminar [registration is closed], facilitated by Digital Literacy Librarian, Mish Boutet on Thursday, October 27, 2021 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Microsoft Teams. We will email you a meeting invitation after you register.

3) Attend the seminar

On Thursday, October 27 at 1:00 pm, attend the Break the Fake follow-up seminar for questions and answers, discussion, and further fact-checking examples and tips.
