About this Guide

Kwey Kakina - Greetings everyone,

We wish to acknowledge our gratitude towards the Algonquin people as we are situated on Algonquin territory.

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, in Call to Action 62, calls on Faculties of Education across Canada to provide future teachers with the resources to discuss Aboriginal issues and incorporate Aboriginal perspectives in the classroom in an appropriate, respectful manner. This guide is designed to provide some resources  that will help teacher candidates to do this. New items and resources will be added on a regular basis, so don’t forget to check in!

This guide focuses on Grades 9 - 12.
