Capital IQ is a platform offered by the research division of S&P Global Ratings, an American credit rating agency. This platform combines deep and broad global financial intelligence with an array of tools for analysis, ideation, and efficiency. S&P Capital IQ includes company financials, relationships among firms and people, biographical and contact data, transactions, events, securities data, ownership, brokerage estimates, corporate governance, regulatory filings, and news on private and public companies.
Accessing Capital IQ on Campus:
While the lab is physically closed due to Covid, users are invited to create an account on Capital IQ's online web portal by following the instructions below:
Accessing Capital IQ off campus:
You can access your account or create one by using your uOttawa email and following this link.
Downloading the Excel Plugin:
You can download data into Excel or extract data in Excel using the Capital IQ plug-in (for Windows PCs only). For plug-in options when owning a Mac PC, please contact us. To obtain the installation instructions, click the Help button once logged into your account.
N.B. S&P Capital IQ may only be used for non-commercial research purposes.
