The Slovak Archives

The "Slovak Archives" consist of archival fonds related to individual members of the Slovak intelligentsia and Slovak organizations. The fonds pertain to Slovakia, Slovak-American and Slovak-Canadian history from the 20th Century until today.

They include official documents, publications, political pamphlets, literary manuscripts, correspondence, photographs, sound recordings, art works and other types of records.

The Slovak Archives also contain a vast collection of periodicals which document the activities of the Slovak community in Canada and the United States. Titles are available through the library catalogue and a comprehensive list is accessible through our research guide.

Slovak Archives Finding Aids

When an archival fonds has been processed and described, a detailed finding aid is created which provides specific information on the documents and the context. Currently, the Slovak Archives finding aids can be found on the AtoM database, or in pdf or paper copy in our reading room. Use the library catalogue to search for most published material in the Slovak Archives.

The finding aid for Böhm, Emanuel (X20-6) is not available at the moment. Please contact arcs@uottawa.ca for details on access.
