This guide describes the Gerald Stone collection of Jewish Canadiana.

Welcome

This guide describes the donated collection of Jewish Canadiana at the University of Ottawa library. The Stone collection is named after its donor, Gerald Stone, and is now a part of the research collection at the University of Ottawa.

Gerald Stone graduated from McGill University in Montreal with a Master of Library Science (MLS) degree. He retired from Library and Archives Canada in 2009 after having worked there and the National Archives of Canada for 25 years. Beginning in the early 1980s Mr. Stone started to collect Jewish Canadiana, i.e., books by or about Jews and the Jewish experience in Canada. In 2009 Gerald Stone donated the majority of his book collection, approximately two thousand volumes, to the University of Ottawa.

The Stone Collection is available for viewing and searching here.
