The two parts of a proper reference:

1) In-text citation (APA Style):

  • Use quotation marks (") around direct quotes.

(Griffin et al., 2011) for summarizing and paraphrasing.

2) Bibliography (APA Style):

Griffin, R. W., Ebert, R. J., Stark, F. A., Lang, M. D., Hitt, M. A., Black, S., Porter, L.W. (Eds.). (2011). Introduction to Business Management, 2nd custom edition. Pearson Learning Solutions.

For more information on citing using the APA style, consult our citation guide. Also, check out the Citation management guide which outlines different tools to help you organize and use your references within assignments, and to quickly create bibliographies.
